About the Owner
Travis Smith is an Oregon native and second generation owner of Sky, which was originally founded in 1979 by William Smith. Travis was introduced to the family business from the comfort of his stroller. He has spent his entire life working with the company, climbing the ranks from office worker to technician to owner. With his continued focus on both employee and customer satisfaction, Travis led Sky to victory by winning the “2015 Best Heating Contractor to Work for” in the western region from ACHR News, a highly respected weekly news magazine for HVACR contractors, and was awarded “Top 40 Under 40” in the HVAC industry.
Travis serves on the board of the Oregon Air Conditioning Contractors of America and the Home Builders Association Home Performance Council. He has also served on the WaterFurnace Dealer Council and is an advisor for ACHR News. A recognized expert in his field, Travis has spoken at the WaterFurnace Annual Dealer meeting to over 400 contractors. He has also addressed the City of Portland Inspectors and spoken at other local events, such as the BuildRight! Conference. Travis lives with his wife and two kids in Happy Valley, OR, where he enjoys mountain biking, paddle boarding and hitting the track as a high-performance driving instructor.
